When it came to designing a smarter, more contextual-aware phone experience on Android, we talked about completely reimagining the user interface. We wanted to go beyond the basics and create a dialer that was truly revolutionary.

To make this happen, we focused on enhancing the phone's voice recognition capabilities. We wanted it to accurately understand and respond to your commands. And that's not all - the dialer also provided suggestions based on your history, the time of day, and your location. It was all about creating a seamless and personalized experience just for you.

Oh, and guess what? No big deal but the dialer app was showcased as the first Material Design app at Google I/O.
